RARE KARL LEEPEARL RING
DESCRIPTION
Now offering an ULTRA RARE ONE-OF-A-KIND ring handmade by famous Big Sur designer Karl Lee! Prominently featured is a bold, oval natural pearl. This freeform mostly white pearl has beautiful iridescent sheen with lovely pink and blue undertones and is set in Karl's traditional 22k yellow gold bezel. The band is a chunky sterling silver rectangular design (also known as a comfort fit) as it tends to stay put and not roll around the finger as a result. Karl's
rings are meant to be worn frequently and it the type of ring you'll slip on and never want to take off! This versatile artisan ring is quite a beauty! It's a great everyday statement ring and would look just as good with jeans as it would for elegant dinners out. It's a size 6 and because of the square design, I've found his rings to fit several fingers as a result.
* Also, because it's marked Big Sur, I believe it's from the 1970's when Karl lived there! What a rare piece for collectors!
All of Karl's rings are ONE-OF-A-KIND, treasured around the world and rarely become available! He has long passed away and I hunt the world for his work making these beautiful creations available for collectors. Karl Lee's simple nearly minimalistic designs are both earthly and elegant which has made him a man with an irrefutable style. His rings are timeless, comfortable and will be the only ring you'll ever want to wear!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Karl Lee's passion for wearable art jewelry began in Big Sur during the mid-sixties. By the 1970's he perfected his skills in traditional methods of casting and hand fabrication metalsmithing.
Dedicated to functional beauty, Karl refers to the construction of his jewelry as "throwing pots" and to the sawing of precious metals as practicing kata (Japanese swordsmanship). His stone cutting has been deemed the "Zen of Lapidary." Karl is influenced by the Golden Mean and by the lines and laws of nature which embody geometrically proportioned forms. His modern and yet timeless originals connect the human body, metal and gemstones into a harmonious design that continues to resonate for generations. Each piece is hand-forged, sawn, welded and filed.
With an exceptional eye and passion for gems, construction, creativity and design, Karl quickly developed a loyal following of collectors and galleries around the world. By the 1980's he worked primarily in gold and platinum as well as pushing the eccentric idea for that time of fabricating pieces mixing 22k gold and silver. Karl's work emphasizes goldsmithing of minimalistic pieces showcasing his gem collection while simultaneously creating timeless masterpieces.
