Well here is my version of a feather.This is a very contemporary design. Feathers are a very strong earring design element to work with.I pull from a lot of free form and also classic designs. This earring is made from 100% copper.I have cut out the design and then hand shaped it on my old wood stump using my many hammers and tools that I have collected or built or modified. I am an old school metal smith and learned my trade in the south west.I am in total awe of all the techniques and designs of the old generation Indian silver smiths.I learned silversmithing from them and learned the methods of finding metal objects and adapting for metal work.
And then we move into modern times and many techniques and materials come on the market to build jewelry with.
I fell in love with copper many years ago and have loved working with it sense.I built this earring using many of the old school shaping and forming techniques that I either pioneered or found...  basically I am self taught to make jewelry with my metalworking skills.The edges are smooth and will not catch your clothing.....
They are built very light weight so your ear will not complain. I used a surgical steel ear wire or post on this pair but other metals are avaiklable just ask..!!
